Making an Automatic button Hole using the sewing machine setting.

Putting in the ZIP for the Little Black Dress (LBD)

Below you will see  pictures of the first zipper I ever put into a garment. I found it to be quite enjoyable and not as difficult as I first thought it would be. I started off by using a basting stitch to piece together the two pieces of fabric where the ZIP would lye. I then pinned the ZIPPER along the area where it would be sewn into. Making sure not to miss measure, otherwise the ZIP would not function as it should. After that I used a basting stitch again over the ZIPPER where I had just pinned so to as to have a guide to follow when I jumped onto the sewing machine. Finally I was ready to stitch the ZIP in permanently to the dress using the ZIPPER foot that I had attached to the sewing machine. Seen in the pictures you will see the time it took to get the ZIPPER in correctly. It was well worth all the steps so as not to have to redo the entire process.
